Itinerary of the Morocco Tour From Marrakech 12 days:

Day 1: Arrival in Marrakech

On the first day, you will arrive in Marrakech, and we will pick you up from the airport and take you to your hotel. You can rest after your trip. If you want, you can walk around the famous square called Jemaa el-Fnaa.

Marrakech is a busy city with lots to see. You will find people selling things, and street performers. It’s a great place to start your time in Morocco.

In the evening, you can relax at your hotel/riad or explore a bit more. This day is for you to get used to the city and rest before we explore the whole of Marrakech the next day.

Day 2: Marrakech City Tour

On the second day, we will take you on a tour around Marrakech. You will visit famous places like the Koutoubia Mosque, which has a tall tower, and the Bahia Palace, known for its beautiful design. We will also visit the Saadian Tombs, where old kings and their families are buried.

After that, we will walk through the narrow streets of the medina, where you will see markets full of colorful goods like spices, carpets, and handmade crafts. You’ll have time to explore and take in the sights and sounds of this lively city.

In the afternoon, you can visit Jemaa el-Fna square, where you’ll see performers like musicians and snake charmers. There are also food stalls with delicious Moroccan dishes like couscous and tagine. It’s a great spot to enjoy the local culture and food.

Day 3: Marrakech → High Atlas Mountains → Telouet Kasbah → Ait Benhaddou → Ouarzazate - Boumalne Dades

On The Third Day, we will pick you up from your hotel and driving through the High Atlas Mountains, where you’ll see beautiful views of the mountains and winding roads, traditional Berber villages along the way. 

Our first stop will be Telouat Kasbah, an old, historic castle where you can learn about Morocco’s past. Next, we’ll visit Ait Benhaddou, a famous ancient village made of clay and mud, and it’s also a UNESCO World Heritage site. Many movies like Gladiator and Game of Thrones were filmed here because of its unique look and history.

After exploring Ait Benhaddou, we’ll head to Ouarzazate, a city known for its film studios and desert landscapes. Finally, we will continue to Dades Valley, where you’ll stay the night, surrounded by beautiful rock formations and quiet villages.

Day 4: Boumalne Dades → Todra Gorge → Erfoud → Merzouga Desert

On The fourth day, we will leave Dades Valley and drive to Todra Gorge, a beautiful place with high, narrow cliffs. You can walk through the gorge and feel the fresh air from the river that runs through it.

Next, we’ll head to Erfoud, a town known for its fossils and the date palm trees. You can see how fossils are made into decorations, and Erfoud is a good stop to learn about this.

Finally, we’ll arrive in Merzouga, where the big dunes of the Sahara Desert begin. You’ll ride camels to a camp in the desert. There, you’ll have Berber dinner and enjoy the music around the campfire and sleep in tents, surrounded by the beauty of the desert under a sky full of stars.

Day 5: Full Day To Explore Sahara Desert (Erg chebbi → Nomads → Khamlia "Gnaoua " → M'ifis Mines → Merzouga lake → Palm grove Forest)

On Day 5, you will spend the whole day exploring the Sahara Desert. We will start by visiting the large dunes of Erg Chebbi, where you can enjoy the peaceful desert views.

Next, we’ll visit a nomad family to learn about their simple way of life in the desert. After that, we’ll go to Khamlia village, where you can listen to traditional Gnaoua music, which is special to this area.

We’ll also visit the old M’ifis mines and then stop by Merzouga Lake, a small seasonal lake. Later, we’ll walk through the palm grove forest, where you can see beautiful palm trees, after that you will head to your riad where you will spend night in a cozy riad on the edge of the desert.

Day 6: Merzouga Desert → Erfoud → Ziz Valley → Cedar Forest → Ifrane → Fes

On Day 6, we will leave the desert and head back to Erfoud. From there, we’ll drive through the beautiful Ziz Valley, where you’ll see a lot of palm trees and a river running through the valley. It’s a great place for taking pictures.

Next, we will pass through the Cedar Forest, where you might see wild monkeys in the trees. It’s a nice stop to enjoy nature, feed the monkeys and take pictures with them.

After that, we’ll drive through Ifrane, a pretty town known as “Morocco’s Switzerland” because of its clean streets and snowy winters. Finally, we’ll arrive in Fes, where you will rest for the night in a traditional cozy riad.

Day 7: Fes Tour Sight

On Day 7, we will explore the historic city of Fes, starting with the old medina, where you’ll walk through narrow streets filled with local shops.

We’ll visit the Royal Palace with its beautiful golden doors and stop by the Jewish Quarter (Mellah) to learn about its history. You’ll also see the famous Al Quaraouiyine University, one of the world’s oldest, and the Bou Inania Madrasa, a historic Islamic school.

Later, we’ll visit the Fes tanneries, where people have been traditionally making leather for centuries. You can see how they dye and prepare leather, a special craft in Fes. It’s a great day to explore the culture and history of the city.

Day 8: Fes → Meknes → Volubilis → Chefchaouen

On Day 8, we will leave Fes and head to Meknes, another historic city. In Meknes, we will visit the famous Bab Mansour Gate, one of the largest and most beautiful gates in Morocco. We’ll also see the old royal stables and the peaceful Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail.

Next, we’ll drive to Volubilis, an ancient Roman city with impressive ruins. You can walk around and see old buildings, mosaics, and columns that are over 2,000 years old.

Finally, we will continue to Chefchaouen, the “Blue City,” known for its blue-painted streets and buildings. You will spend the night in this beautiful, quiet town surrounded by mountains.

Day 9: Chefchaouen → Tetouan → Tangier

On Day 9, we will explore Chefchaouen in the morning. You can walk through the famous blue-painted streets and take some pictures of your amazing blue houses and many attractions.

Afterward, we will drive to Tetouan, a city known for its white buildings and rich history. You’ll have time to visit its medina, which is a UNESCO World Heritage site, and see the local markets.

Finally, we will head to Tangier, a lively coastal city where the Mediterranean Sea meets the Atlantic Ocean. You can enjoy the views of the sea and explore the city’s unique mix of cultures. You will stay overnight in Tangier.

Day 10: Tangier → Rabat → Casablanca

On Day 10, we will leave Tangier and head to Rabat, the capital of Morocco. In Rabat, we’ll visit the Hassan Tower, an old historic mosque, and the beautiful Mausoleum of Mohammed V, where the king is buried.

Next, we will explore the Oudaya Kasbah, a historic area with narrow streets and great views of the ocean. It’s a peaceful place to walk around and take in the sights.

After Rabat, we’ll continue to Casablanca, Morocco’s largest city. Here, you will visit the famous Hassan II Mosque, one of the largest mosques in the world. You will stay overnight in Casablanca.

Day 11: Casablanca → El Jadida → Essaouira

On Day 11, we will leave Casablanca and head to El Jadida, a coastal town with old Portuguese buildings. You can explore the historic fort and enjoy the ocean views.

On the way to Essaouira, we will stop to see the famous argan trees, where you might spot goats climbing the trees. These goats love to eat the fruit of the argan tree, which is used to make argan oil. You can also visit an argan oil cooperative and learn how local women make this special oil.

Once we reach Essaouira, you can enjoy the windy beaches, explore the medina, and relax. You will spend the night in this peaceful seaside town.

Day 12: Essaouira → Marrakech

On the last day of your trip, we will leave Essaouira and make our way back to Marrakech. Along the way, you can enjoy the coastal views and the beautiful countryside.

Once we arrive in Marrakech, you’ll have some free time to explore more of the city. You can do some last-minute shopping in the markets or relax in a café.
